Being that it is September and the start of a new school year, thoughts of education come to mind. This is even more evident as more hospitals seek the coveted Magnet recognition. A recent but quiet trend has been slowly making its way into the nursing world; hospitals are requiring their nurses to either return to school for their bachelor’s degrees or have a BSN before applying. I know everyone’s sick of this contentious topic, but the growing demands and responsibilities of nursing will require advanced degrees for nurses.

…It’s Not Always the Physician
Today, more than a quarter of nurses report being bullied at work by supervisors, as well as fellow nurses.
Bullying is described as any behavior that humiliates, intimidates or manipulates someone. Examples can be not helping a registry nurse, making lunch plans to order food and excluding someone, gossiping and saying negative things about one another, or telling someone in front of patients, families, and staff what they did wrong.
